We just got back from Wyoming where we celebrated Ruby's 3rd birthday. It's hard to believe how fast summer is going and how fast our little girls are growing. Here's some shots from earlier this July of Ruby (almost 3 at the time) and Sadie (just over 4 months) enjoying some summer sun in the back yard.

What a fast 3 months!
Wow, it seems like just yesterday we were bringing Sadie home from the hospital and now she's three months old. It's been really fun getting to know our new little lady and getting to see what a great big sister Ruby is already.

Well, we've been a bit busy the last three weeks but that is no excuse for us to not be posting, especially as we have such big news!
Sadie Mae Badertscher was born on February 23rd at 6:09 p.m. Mom started having contractions early in the morning and tried to wait it out a little bit but after showering and lining up Ruby's care we took off to the hospital. Well...of course things slowed down once we got there but they decided to admit us anyways and we spent the day cruising the hallways of the hospital. Finally that evening things went from slow to FAST! When mom started to feel the need to push that girl was ready! Sadie weighed in at a whopping 5 lbs, 11 oz and was 19 1/4 inches long. She was super healthy though, surprising all the nurses when her blood sugar levels were great and she started eating well. We got a pretty good snow storm that night but Grandpa Tim and Grandma Joy braved the weather to greet her that night before heading back to Wyoming. Grandma Lisa stayed with us for a week to help out and we have had a lot of wonderful and thoughtful gifts sent to both girls. Sadie will be having her "first house party" this weekend as we didn't do a formal baby shower for her, and again it is supposed to snow, but hopefully the roads will be okay for our Colorado friends to come out and meet her! (pictures to come!)
We are proud to announce that she is eating so well that at her 2 wk Dr. appointment she was already at 7 lbs, 1 oz! We are pretty sure that even though she started smaller than her big sister that she will be larger than her sister was (and maybe we can re-use more of Ruby's old clothes!)
Ruby is doing really well and loves her sister, she constantly asks, "Can I say hi to the baby?" We always say "yes, and you don't have to ask" but she asks about 20 times a day (no joke) She doesn't like to call Sadie by her name but instead refers to her only as "little baby". She is a big helper though and seems to be adjusting well so far.
Ruby is really into princesses and dress up right now. Can you tell?

Finally some new pictures...
Sorry about the delay, we've all been busy getting ready for baby #2 (Feb. 21 is getting very close.)
Anyway, Ruby has been very busy as you might imagine.
Here's what's been going on since the last post:
Ruby had a great time hanging out with family and friends at Christmas,
one of her favorite parts was getting to wear her "princess dress."
She also had a lot of fun in her special galactic bath.
She went to visit mommy at work...
...and got to see the dentist for the first time.
It has been a pretty mild winter, so we've all been able to enjoy playing outside.
But luckily, there's always time to goof around in the house.
Like I said at the top, we've all been getting ready for baby #2's impending arrival, including Ruby. She's been reading books about being a big sister and using her dolls to practice taking care of her little brother or sister, but we already know that she'll be a great big sister!
